Within the broader problem of missing first-hand witnesses, the anonymous family-source chain introduces an additional evidential step before the documents themselves can even be evaluated. How the Claimed Source Chain Works
The public account generally follows a simple sequence rather than a direct witness statement:
- A person allegedly involved in, or associated with, the supposed RS/33 organisation possesses documents.

At no point in the publicly documented chain is the original participant available for questioning. Importantly, each of these forms of corroboration would stand outside the anonymous family narrative. That independence is what reduces the risk that every supporting claim ultimately traces back to the same unidentified source.
What the Current Record Supports
Based on the publicly available record, the anonymous family-source chain explains how the documents are said to have entered modern UFO research, but it does not itself provide first-hand testimony about the alleged 1933 incident. Public accounts consistently describe the documents as arriving from an unidentified individual claiming a family connection rather than from a named participant whose role can be independently examined.
