How secretive was Mussolini’s regime?
From the late 1920s onwards, Mussolini transformed Italy into a one-party dictatorship that relied on censorship, police powers and political intimidation. For the Magenta case, that independent evidence remains disputed. Why a complete cover-up would still have been difficult

The strongest conclusion supported by the evidence

What they do not establish is that the alleged 1933 Magenta UFO recovery actually happened. The cover-up argument explains how secrecy might have been possible, but it does not verify the underlying event.
